Communism- a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.

Abolition of Rights of Inheritance.
Confiscation of Property Rights.
Central Bank.
Government Ownership of Communication and Transportation.
Government Ownership of Factories and Agriculture.
Government Control of Labor.
Corporate Farms and Regional Planning.
Government Control of Education.

The Rise of Communism in Russia Lenin came to the country after previously being exiled in Finland. He took over from the former leader Alexander Kerensky through secret alliances. His reign started by propoganda stating how he would bring "Bread, land, peace, and ALL power to the Soviets." However, his reign was marred by radical changes to assure Lenin's power. He made the government all powerful and gave the citizens no rights. They had no freedom of speech or the ability to meet in groups. Although some thought his rulings were overpowering, there were still those who were happy that Russia was in peace and prospering.
The Fall of Communism in Russia By the 1980s, it was becoming quite obvious that communism in the USSR was not really working out. Gorbachev became the leader of the USSR in 1985 and he introduced many reforms in an attempt to modernize the economy and make the Communist Party more democratic. All that this led to was the breakup of the USSR and the end of the one-party Communist rule, as well as the collapse of the well-known Ir
